The good news is, if you target a niche that has limited competition then you only need a small amount of content and 10 or 20 good back links to get your site to Number 1 in the Google Search Engine Results page for the particular keyword you are targeting.

If you can’t find hidden niches, you will never make any money. This is because there is so much competition for all the popular terms and keywords.

If you are gonna target a popular niche, then you MUST narrow your target right down to a specific keyword phrase. Otherwise, you simply will not even dent the side of the internet.

Just think, you are targeting a popular niche, you have only just started. Old Mate Guru has been targeting that niche for 5 years. He is all over it like a rash. What chance do you have of knocking him out of the number 1 position in the SERPS? Buckleys Pal.

Therefore, you need to target one key phrase and concentrate on that for 6 – 12 months. This is how competitive it wis likely to be.

So, you can either target this 1 keyword phrase for 6 to 12 months, or go out and find untapped niches. Untapped niches are potential gold mines, so start digging and get going – you could be sitting on a gold mine.

EDU and GOV sites also are relatively authoritative. You can find blogs with the extension and post comments on them. Target your niche.

So how do you go about finding these blogs?

Try typing this in Google.

site:.edu inurl:blog “black dogs”

This will then show you all the blogs about black dogs with EDU extenstions. Then you can go ahead and participate in the blog. Remember, participate genuinely for a better chance of getting your comment approved.

A simple – ‘great post’ comment is unlikely to win anyone over. Add good informative unique content to your comments.
