There are plenty of ways to get free website traffic, however not many of these methods are that effective. Some work really well and others don’t work well at all. I recently tried a few methods and have posted my results below.

Website Traffic Idea 1.
I just posted yesterday a few posts on Yahoo Answers. What I did was post comments in my niche and included a link through to my site as reference. I answered approximately 12 questions. This took about 45 minutes to do this. I answered them well and put plenty of detail. Today I check my logs to see how much traffic it generated.

It generated approximately 4 visitors for 1 day. This is not a lot of visitors for 45 minutes work. But, these visitors are highly targeted. They have clicked my link because they are interested in what I wrote on yahoo answers.

So, Yahoo Answers does work. It sends you highly targeted traffic in very small numbers. This type of traffic is the traffic you are after, but obviously you want a lot more visitors.

Website Traffic Idea 2.
I posted a few comments in about 10 blogs. These blogs were in my niche and I found them by searching with Google Blog Search. After checking my statistics today I can see that the moderators are checking my site to see how relevant my site is and if they want to approve my comment or not.

Really though, after a few days I have not received any substantial visitors. Around about 2 or 3 for the same number of days.

So you can see that these 2 methods do get you traffic, but in very small quantities. They are not going to put a big dent in your visitor numbers. However, they will send you targeted website traffic and the best part is it is free.
